It just chaps my small hide when I see book after book by a marketing guru make it to the mainstream, the latest being the [TAG-TEC]Kevin Trudeau Weight Loss[/TAG-TEC] book. Maybe I’m jealous? Or maybe it’s because I simply can’t stand it when good information gets pushed to the bottom and somebody who’s promoting crazy diets and questionable supplements makes it to the top.
Infomercial star Trudeau charged with misrepresenting bestseller, violating order
Canadian Press Release Story
Here’s the part that caught my eye:
“After purchasing the book, however, the FTC alleged that consumers discover it “requires severe dieting,” daily injections of a prescription drug not approved by the Food and Drug Administration for weight loss and “lifelong dietary restrictions.”
The book ranks third on the Wall Street Journal’s bestseller list this week, and 19th on USA Today’s list.”
How come these books rank so high but ones I know about that aren’t so hyped up, that are written by responsible individuals don’t do as well?
My point is this…
Anybody can write a book.
Anybody can blog.
Anybody can write an article and syndicate it to the world.
As a consumer, just be aware that it’s very possible to build muscle and lose weight without diet and pills and spending money on worthless supplements.
Do your research before believing any book that claims they are going to tell you something nobody else will.
It’s apparent we have a weight issue in the United States and sadly, people are being duped and swindled out of money on fad diets and pills that don’t work. Or crazy home solutions.
The solution is simple:
1 – Start eating correctly
2 – Start being physically active
3 – Give it time to see the changes in your body
Have you read this Kevin Trudeau Weight Loss book and am I completely wrong?
It’s interesting to see that out of the 300+ reviews on Amazon for this book, 197 of them are ripping it a new one.
“SHOULD BE 0 STARS – don’t bother with this book!! Not unless you have a lot of money, a lot of time, and a connection out of the country for the HGH.”
“Filler chapters make it hard to get to the point or “cure” that is not there. Got it at a yard sale for $1 with his other book on health. Both are a scam and should be thrown out”
“I purchased this book from a website which sells Kevin Trudeau’s books and other propaganda. Please don’t waste your money!”
Before you think I pulled out the very worst, I only looked at the first page of the reviews. I understand that every book has a bad customer or two but when 66% of the reviews are so harsh, it’s hard to ignore.
Two Books I Highly Recommend for Weight Loss & Inspiration:
1: Burn the Fat, Feed the Muscle by Tom Venuto
The link above will take you to a mass review of this book. Read my disclose. I get a commission off it if thru think link. It helps pay the bills.
If you refuse to participate in that, then here’s the raw link directly to the BurntheFat site avoiding any of my links.
2: FitOver40 by Jon Benson
Not as focused as Tom’s in terms of weight loss, but it’s inspirational and one heck of a beautiful book. Save your money on the [TAG-TEC]Kevin Trudeau[/TAG-TEC] book and take my word that the above resources is money better spent. I trust you’ll thank me later!
